HNA, like many organisations, has been in lockdown for much of the year, so we’re very pleased to say that we’re now back up and running.

However much we’re looking forward to getting back on the water, the well-being of our personnel and passengers is our first priority, and to ensure your safety and comply with government guidelines, our activities are still limited and subject to a number of restrictions:

  • We can once again welcome our volunteers to help with boat maintenance, but you now must first get permission to attend so that we do not exceed allowable numbers. All personnel must also comply, not only with all applicable government guidelines, but also with HNA-specific guidelines that have been set up to provide a safe working environment; you will also be asked to confirm that you will do so on arrival at the Boathouse.
  • We’re also very excited to be able to offer, once again, self-drive day hire on Reg, as well as skippered day trips of up to 6 hours on Spirit), using HNA recognized steerers and crew. Following government guidelines, however, we are currently able to hire groups that consist only of members of the same household or ‘support bubble’. We have amended the Terms and Conditions of hire for both skippered trips and self-hire trips to ensure that we keep both our passengers and volunteers as safe as is possible. We have also drawn up additional instructions addtional instructions for steerers and crew on skippered trips.

At the moment, unfortunately, we are not able to offer any residential trips or journeys on boats other than Reg and Spirit, and nor have we re-started our training program.

While we cannot guarantee that coming to work at the Boathouse or enjoying a trip will be risk free, in reopening on even this limited basis, we have followed government guidelines and advice, as well as that from a variety of other sources, assessing, mitigating and reviewing the risks to the greatest extent possible, and doing all possible to make HNA COVID-secure. In addition to limiting our activities and changing the terms under which we offer them, we have:

When we are allowed and when we feel confident that we can safely do so, we will open up more of our activities. For the moment, however, we hope that you will take advantage of the opportunities we currently offer and, as always, stay safe and secure.
